Magazine Review Build Up

This is the final version of the magazine review page. Looking back on the other designs this seems to look more appropriate than previously. This title looked a lot better than the one from before and this final piece is definitely something that we are happy with and have the intention of sticking with. The black background helps the numbers at the bottom stand out more.

This magazine review has been changed again. I have removed the image and text in the top left corner of the page and have now replaced it with a paragraph of text and looking at its current state it suits the magazine better. The title is the only issue at the moment but once that has been worked out then it will be placed at the top of the page like before. The previous magazine review page looked good but after looking back on the magazine review we decided to choose another article to look at and its design looked easier to work with so we made the appropriate changes to it and once the title is in there then it will look a lot better than it currently does. The main image on the left has been cropped so that there is less head room than there was before as well as the image been brightened a bit which helps to make the image stand out so much more.

This, so far, is the completed version of the magazine review double page. We have tried to follow the conventions that Empire magazine uses and incorporate it in the best way possible. The images have been included and a title and it has been set out accordingly and has given the best possible outcome. Looking at this final version, you can see that the layout has completed changed to what was on there previously and the reason for this is because the image looked better when it was enlarged down the page rather than staying in the top corner of the page. The other small image looked better over the small textbox. The black and white fits with the concept of the film because it represents darkness, struggle and conflict so it was more appropriate.

In this one all of the text is complete with the only thing left to do insert two images. If any of the text needs to be re-positioned then it will be done. So far the work is looking quite good the only issue is the lack of photos so it does make it really difficult to finalise the work without any images.

More text has been added to the magazine review page to make up the article. Once the pictures have been taken then this will make it way easier to put align the text better. It is difficult getting the photographs but once they have been taken then it shouldn't be a problem to complete the rest of the work.

Looking at this version of the magazine review you can see that the relevant changes have been made to it. More text has been added to the page and on the left you can see that the text has been moved up to make more space for writing to go there and if it has to be changed again then these changes will be made.

On this version of the magazine double page spread, there have been changes made to where things are going to be. Looking back at the magazine review of Avatar from Empire magazine, the change in design seemed appropriate because even though the film is not the same genre as ours the layout of the magazine and the concepts it follows is what we can work with to help us. On this version we have also changed the Futura font to Times New Roman and the reason for this is because it was the font that was used in the Empire magazine so it looked better to change our text to match this as well. The different colours on this version of the magazine is just a guideline to help know where the text and the images are going to be placed. The title and the sub-heading have also been removed because they did not seem to fit in with the layout of the film and it also looked quite awkward where it was positioned. There is also a border around the magazine page to include the page numbers, possibly more colour and to make sure that everything fits around the page equally.

This is the newer version of the magazine review double page spread. With this version you can see that it has a title and a sub-heading. The sub-heading says: "Urban Youth - What you sayinnnng!!" and this reaches out to younger audiences because it is to give them the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas of the film as well as the concepts that they gather from the film. On this version of the magazine review, page numbers have also been included in the bottom corners of the page and the reason for this is to make the magazine review look realistic. The fonts used in this version are: Futura and Transformer. Blue and grey have become the colours that are part of magazine review and so far these do seem to fit the work that has been done so far and if the colours need to be changed then these necessary changes will be made whenever it's best.

This is a further update from the previous mock-up on the magazine that has been made. More text has been added to the magazine review but once the images have been taken it will be much easier to put the text into the work because they will fit around the images more.

This is the starting point to the double page magazine review. This is just a rough idea of what content is going to be in the review but any necessary changes are going to made and updated on the blog.
